What better place to take a relaxing holiday than in the beautiful Dartmoor National Park ?
The Coach House self catering holiday cottage on the foothills of Hamel Down, is fairly central in
this wonderful Moorland setting and has all of it's many delights right here on the doorstep ....
Dartmoor ponies, beautiful countryside, breathtaking views and wildlife.
This is the perfect spot for dog walks, pony trekking, and picnics with the family.

The Cottage sleeps up to 5 people, yet romantic enough for just two.
It is a detached granite built property in an idyllic location with stunning views of Hamel Down.
Situated 1¼ miles out of the village of Widecombe in a quiet country lane within 3 acres of the owner's garden.
It has a very homely feel with full central heating and an easy to use woodburning stove for cooler days.
And it's the perfect base from which to explore stunning Dartmoor.

Accommodation Large first floor sitting room furnished with two comfy sofas TV, DVD and
wood burning stove. Fully fitted downstairs kitchen, electric cooker, microwave, washing machine
with fridge freezer. Downstairs dining hall and bathroom with white suite and mixer shower.
Upstairs, as well as the sitting room there is a good size double bedroom with views, a pretty single
bedroom and a third bedroom with bunk beds which is ideal as another single room or for 2 children.
Bed linen is provided and the beds are made up ready, but we ask guests to bring their own towels.

Access from the cottage garden onto the open moors where cattle and sheep wander freely
amongst the native Dartmoor ponies. (Some of which occasionally end up in the garden)
Fresh eggs are available from our own hens and ducks.

The Garden has swings and a slide for youngsters. Visitors are welcome to enjoy the grounds and
say hello to the ponies in the paddock. A separate eating /sitting area enables visitors to enjoy the
peace and tranquillity and watch the beautiful sunsets over Hamel Down. There are several
walks direct from the cottage, and as the village is within walking distance enabling you to leave your
vehicle behind. The old fashioned village of Widecombe has a Post Office General Stores
for provisions. Gift shops, tea rooms and two traditional pubs with flagstone floors and open fires.

Two pubs The Rugglestone Inn and the Old Inn both within walking distance, at Widecombe in the Moor,
serve excellent meals. You are welcome to use the village tennis courts with our membership.

....at the doggy price of just £10 for the week.


Widecombe has a colourful monthly market selling local produce on
the first Saturday of each month from 9.30 to 3p.m.
With home made cakes, local beef, lamb, pork and sausages.

Non smoking in the cottage.
Parking spaces for 2 cars.

Pony trekking is available in the area.
Half or full day rides along with beginner's classes.

2012 dates and prices for Pitt Park

Weekly prices are for a seven night stay commencing on a Saturday.

Short Breaks are available during the months of January, February, November & December
at a price of £175 for a three night break, £35 per night thereafter.
At other times as a last minute deal if available – please enquire for prices.

All prices include heating, electric, and bedding.
A dog is welcome at the weekly price of £10, for more than one dog, please contact Hilary.
For a party of two, there is no charge for your dog.

2012 prices for self catering.
A £50 deposit will secure your booking.
The balance is due six weeks prior to the commencement of your holiday.
Payment by cheque or direct into bank.

If you are looking for a last minute booking.. and....
IF THE COTTAGE IS FREE we will offer you a very good price.
