The Coach House self catering cottage on the foothills of Hamel Down, is fairly central in
this wonderful Moorland setting and has all of it's many delights right here on the doorstep ....
Dartmoor ponies, beautiful countryside, breathtaking views and wildlife. The perfect spot for dog walking.

The Cottage sleeps up to 5 people. It is a detached granite built property in an idyllic location with
stunning views of Hamel Down. Situated 1¼ miles out of the village of Widecombe in a quiet country
lane within two acres of the owner's garden. It has a very homely feel with full central heating and an easy
to use woodburning stove for cooler days. ........ And it's the perfect base from which to explore Dartmoor.

Accommodation Large first floor sitting room furnished with two comfy sofas TV, DVD and
wood burning stove. Fully fitted downstairs kitchen, electric cooker, microwave, washing machine
with fridge freezer. Downstairs dining hall and bathroom with white suite and mixer shower.
Upstairs, as well as the sitting room there is a good size double bedroom with views, a pretty single
bedroom and a third bedroom with bunk beds which is ideal as another single room or for 2 children.
Bed linen is provided and the beds are made up ready, but we ask guests to bring their own towels.

Access from the cottage garden onto the open moors where cattle and sheep wander freely
amongst the native Dartmoor ponies. (Some of which occasionally end up in the garden)
Fresh eggs are available from our own hens and ducks.

The Garden has swings and a slide for youngsters. Visitors are welcome to enjoy the grounds and
say hello to the ponies in the paddock. A separate eating /sitting area enables visitors to enjoy the
peace and tranquillity and watch the beautiful sunsets over Hamel Down. There are several
walks direct from the cottage, and as the village is within walking distance enabling you to leave your
vehicle behind. The old fashioned village of Widecombe has a Post Office General Stores
for provisions. Gift shops, tea rooms and two traditional pubs with flagstone floors and open fires.

Two Widecombe pubs The Rugglestone Inn and the Old Inn both serve excellent meals.
You are welcome to use the village tennis courts with our membership.

Widecombe has a colourful monthly market selling local produce
including home made cakes, local beef, lamb, pork and sausages.

Parking spaces for 2 cars.

Pony trekking is available in the area.
Half or full day rides along with beginner's classes.
